I want to be on a sailboat.
A flipping gorgeous sailboat.
I want to be taking that sailboat on all sorts of adventures — but I want to be in North America enough that I can afford those adventures, visit the ones I love and have left behind, and be reminded of the gory 9-5 details in such a face-smacking way that my heart races with the need to return to my corner of heaven.
Dream Leah — A dream has no boundaries. A dream says buy a boat — get a boat — and take your man and go experience life in the first-hand, 80 pictures / day way. Go feel the spray and smell the pungeance of life and stop stressing and planning and just start doing. The plan’s the first thing to go anyways. So stop planning and start crushing.
Yet another rainy day as we sail around Vancouver Island (June 2010)
“Nothing breeds energy, passion, enthusiasm and life into a relationship more than the pursuit of mutual dreams”
I hope, one day, you look back at this period of life, and the memory makes you smile. Smile because you figured it out — the boat, the funding, the plan, the trip — and now you’re living my dreams of today… sailing into a cove, dropping anchor, relaxing in the cockpit with nothing but the sounds of the birds, a soft lap at the hull, and gentle Jonathan-snores to interrupt the peace. Leah — I see you there. I see you, and more than anything, I want to be you.
Aside — I hope you are remembering to love and appreciate every single little detail. Your love, your life, your family, your blessings.
