Summer in Maine

Oh sweet summer in Maine… you’re so worth it.

Worth the long winters, the gorgeous falls and the crappy springs. Worth the madness that descends for 3 months while the entire state tries to jam-pack an entire year’s worth of outdoor adventures into one season.

I can’t say that we’ve had a single summer go quite as planned yet — especially when it comes to our always-ambitious sailing plans 🙂 — but life’s what happens while you’re making other plans, anyways, right?

And at least this summer has included a whole lot of low key boat life, hanging out on a mooring in Bailey Island, or day sailing around the many little islands in the area…

As well as a whole bunch of berry picking (raspberry farmers take note: we may owe you a little more money than we fessed up to on the scales 🙂 )

Visits from sailing friends are always a highlight…

As are sunsets…

And spectacular sunrises…

Weeknight sails around the islands…

And homemade biscuits underway from my love…

Favorite little anchorages…

Yep, it hasn’t been quite the summer we expected…

But it’s been a great one, nonetheless!
