Well, this is one holiday I’ve never actually had the opportunity to celebrate before… either because we were sailing, or we were in Vancouver, or I didn’t have my darned greencard yet! So getting to cook a turkey (my first!) in Maine, with my husband and mom-in-law and an absolutely gorgeous snowy-white day… yep, that all qualifies as something wonderful to be thankful for 🙂
The seasons have been changing rapidly here…
From clear & windy to clear & turkey 🙂
To gorgeous sunsets…
To good ole fashioned blizzards 🙂 (But how great is the view from our rental house?!?)
Brio, on the other hand, is going into severe shock. First she got dragged through some serious fog with only GIRLS onboard…
Then she was hauled & had her mast stripped (which, btw? Is way easier than I EVER expected it to be!)
Which revealed… a giant mess??? I have no idea what was living under our mast, but I think it’s gone now 😉
Then she got trucked across Harpswell to her winter home…
And now she’s discovered… SNOW!
(Shrinkwrap is in the mail… Literally. So she shouldn’t look like this for long 😛 )
On a different note, Teeter and I managed to survive a “Turkey Trot” (5k run) with smiles intact…
We’ve had our first power-outage (thanks Mr. Blizzard!) — which is kind of romantic until you realize you have a deadline and “geepers an internet connection would be reeeeally helpful right now”…
And, hey! Our turkey turned out deliciously!!
So all in all, we’re all feeling thankful this Thanksgiving 🙂
(Plus? How great is double holidays!?! Thanksgiving in October, Thanksgiving in November, it’s all awesome!)
